Please Consider. What is missing in our culture? Personally, I think emotional intelligence is a big thing that is missing in our culture, it keeps us distant from each other, and sometimes divided. How did we become so disconnected from each other? Most people agree with me, we were all emotionally suppressed, and that effected our adult relationships in a big way. One solution is to take a risk, sit down, tell our inner stories. I have listened to hundreds of stories, I have told my own story numbers of time, this is self inquiry (without saying you must do self inquiry). What you share of yourself is up to you, no harm will come but you may feel liberated, you may be seen and heard like no other time. Here is a story of my own awareness about something I was doing, its called projection, in this case it was unconscious. About 35 years ago I was doing a personal growth workshop. I was triggered off by the person leading the group. He had so much knowledge and challenged everyone in the group about who they thought they were. I felt intimidated by him . My father was very dominating and that did engender fear in me. He had a way of articulating things which was way beyond my ability. In this regard he had the power over me. To keep this pattern going I had projected this behaviour on to a number of people in my life. The facilitator was about to say something to me and in my mind I went ‘I’m going to get you back’ (revenge),I was also in full on fear. I did say something which I don’t remember, and the facilitator got up, walked over to me and just gave me a big hug. That moment was a realisation of what I was doing.
